A few snags…

I have been sadly quiet the last few weeks, extending to over 2 months. Last time I posted we “were” gainfully employed and I have to say, yes my husband has been but I have not!

I was flown out to North Carolina and assigned the “trainer-from-hell” which lasted all of 24-hours. I gladly paid my bus trip from Maryland to Nebraska which was a 3 day trip to escape the torture. I found out later that I was not the first to leave this trainer. It made me feel somewhat better, although that 24-hours left their mark on me.

My husband made it through his 3 week training period and while it wasn’t quite the hell mine turned into, he had his own struggles but managed to make it through. I guess the training program is an either make-it or break-it period for newbies to the trucking industry.

I finally joined him on the truck for a few days at the end of July, as a ride-along and not long after my gall bladder started acting up. To make a long story shorter, I had surgery in August to get the irritating little beast removed along with a little tumor under my arm. All turned out well and I recovered very well.

By the end of August you can bet I was anxious to be back with my hubby again. He hadn’t come home for the surgery because at this point he was our only source of income. I called the company as soon as I was released from Dr’s care and they hired me back on to be trained by him which started Sept. 1st.

So now we are at home for a few days and my training is nearly over. It was nice to be home again but I will be ready to get this training stuff out of the way.

I have to get back to the trucking yard and take some internal testing which they refer to as testing out and I will be finished. Then we will be on the road as a team and paid as such! :-) and that will be really great!

We are headed to Pennsylvania tomorrow but right now headed to bed.

Good night & happy trails!
